Elderberry

Dietary supplements containing soy isoflavones are much more effective than placebo in reducing the frequency and intensity of hot flushes. Further studies are needed to fully clarify what factors affect the effectiveness of the extract, such as dose, type of isoflavone, and duration of treatment.

The meta-analysis shows that soy isoflavone supplements may be helpful in reducing body weight, and controlling blood glucose and insulin levels. Larger studies are needed to fully confirm these findings.
